Excellent report leading up to the war. I was 15 during the summer of 1967. My family was camping with my favorite aunt and uncle when the war broke out. I vaguely recall the adults discussing it but not knowing much about the history of the area . Since then I have grown up and spent 38 years in the Navy and Navy Reserve. I was recalled to active duty during Desert Storm in 1990-91. Needless to say I have learned much about the Arabs and the Jews since 1967.
Thanks, I was a radio operator with 3rd Battalion 7th Marines in Desert Storm and later spent five months attached to a battalion of the United Arab Emirates in Somalia, so I learned a thing or two as well. I appreciate the subscription. Please, pass it along to anyone else that might find it interesting.
Ah, Somalia. A garden spot. Similar to Djibouti? I was a flight surgeon during my entire career. My first duty station after NAS Pensacola for my training was MCAS Camp Pendleton at 22 Area with MAG 39. . I cherish my time with the Marines. I still live near Oceanside and frequently see my “boys” there. I finished my career after 28 years (!) with VR-57 at NAS North Island. I traveled all over the world with them and saw more than 65 countries. Retired 0-6.
If this had pages I’d call it a page turner - so it’s a page scroller, I guess. Really well done!!
