If you are like me and love Greek myths then this is the Substack for you. Ellie does a great job of distilling the essence of the myth down to an easily digestable post and write in a moden style with humor. She also included art related to the myth which makes each post even better. Please to yourself a favor and subscribe.
If you like Jeopardy and/or trivia then this is the Substack for you. Alex is a former Jeopardy winner and his questions are harder frequently the the show. You have to subscribe to play but it is totally worth it as you move up the leader boards.
If you love history, especially the odd parts of it, you will do well to reads this Substack. Allison and I won't agree on much and her politics shows through with some of her comments but the enthusiasm with which she approaches each topics is plain to see and it also appeals to my own quirky nature.
I love this newsletter, it really helps me in my writing process and has great ideas for when you're stuck in a rut. It is also just a great newsletter for relaxation and getting away from the every day world. I'm not rally a poetry person but I have enjoyed every one of Nancy's poems.
I'm sure Bari Weiss and I would not agree on most issues but she is a throwback to a time when you could disagree and the debate would remain civil. She has guests from all political persuasions talking about a wide range of topics. Sure, there are times where I want to yell at my monitor but there are just as many times, where I'm nodding and saying "they really get me". The world would be a better place if everyone had the attitude displayed in this publication.
Melanie Phillips is a voice of sanity in the growing darkness. Anyone who believes the world is going down the wrong path, a path that will lead to the fall of Western Civilization she read every post she puts out. She is a "real journalist" and an actual writer and is a well-reasoned voice crying out for everyone to listen. We do ourselves and her a disservice if we do not listen.
